How to Apply for the Affordable Child Care Benefit
The Affordable Child Care Benefit (ACCB) helps eligible British Columbia families with the cost of child care. Families can complete the application online, while Little Monsters Academy confirms the child care arrangement electronically.
You do not normally need to obtain, print or scan a Child Care Arrangement form.
Before You Begin
Please have the following ready:
- Your child’s legal name and date of birth
- Identification for each member of your family
- Social Insurance Numbers for the applicant and spouse, if applicable
- Your Little Monsters Academy facility and class information
- Your child’s scheduled start date and attendance days
- Any additional documents requested for your circumstances
Only one parent or guardian in each family should submit the application.

Review Your Possible Eligibility
Visit the B.C. government’s Affordable Child Care Benefit website:
You can use the online estimator to obtain an approximate benefit amount before applying. The estimate is not a guarantee of approval or funding.

Sign In to My Family Services
Select the option to apply online and sign in to My Family Services.
Create an account if you do not already have one. My Family Services allows you to:
- Apply for or renew the ACCB
- Upload supporting documents
- Check the status of your application
- Report certain changes

Start an ACCB Application
Choose the option to apply for the Affordable Child Care Benefit and complete the requested information about:
- Your family
- Your child
- Your income
- Your reason for requiring child care, if requested
- Your child care arrangement
Please answer every question accurately and completely. Missing information can delay processing.

Enter Your Child Care Provider
When asked for your child care provider, enter the Little Monsters Academy facility where your child is enrolled.
Please select or enter the correct location:
- Little Monsters Academy – Fraser Sunset; or
- Little Monsters Academy – Mountain View
The facility, start date and attendance schedule must match your enrollment agreement.

Request Electronic Provider Confirmation
Choose the electronic provider-confirmation option when it is available.
This sends the Child Care Arrangement request to Little Monsters Academy through the Province’s secure provider portal. You do not need to bring us a printed form or obtain a handwritten signature.
Little Monsters Academy will review and electronically confirm:
- The child care facility
- The type of licensed child care
- The child’s start date
- The scheduled attendance days
- The applicable monthly or daily fee
Please let us know after you submit the request so we can watch for it.

Review Your Information Carefully
Before submitting your application, make sure all information is correct.

Submit Your Application and Documents
Complete the required declarations and consents, upload any requested supporting documents and submit the application through My Family Services.
Apply as soon as possible. ACCB funding may generally begin from the first day of the month in which a completed application is submitted, but approval and the amount of funding are determined by the Province.

Monitor Your Application
Check your My Family Services account and email regularly.
The Province may contact you if:
- Information is missing
- Additional documents are required
- The child care arrangement needs clarification
- A correction must be made
Respond promptly to avoid processing delays.
After Your Application Is Approved
The Province will issue a benefit decision explaining:
- The approved benefit amount
- The effective dates
- The child and facility covered by the benefit
- Any amount that remains payable by the family
Please continue paying your regular preschool fees until ACCB funding has been approved and confirmed. ACCB is paid toward your child care fees, but families remain responsible for any balance not covered by ACCB or other fee reductions.
Notify both Little Monsters Academy and the Province promptly if your child’s facility, schedule, fees, start date or last day changes.
ACCB eligibility normally needs to be renewed periodically. My Family Services will show your benefit dates and renewal information.
If Electronic Confirmation Is Not Available
If the online application does not offer electronic provider confirmation, or if the electronic request cannot be completed, please contact Little Monsters Academy.
We can provide the Child Care Arrangement form (CF2798) as a backup. Little Monsters Academy must complete the provider sections before the parent completes and submits the remaining sections.
The paper form should only be used when the electronic process is unavailable or when requested by the Province.
