Scheduling a Tour
First, let’s make sure our program is right for you
Are you looking for preschool or daycare?
We offer 4 hour morning or afternoon preschool classes, but not full day care.
While daycares can keep children all day, preschools (like us) cannot keep children for more than 4 hours each day. Therefore, a child cannot attend both morning and afternoon classes on the same day.
We recommend the West Coast Child Care Resource Centre vacancy list for parents looking for full day care.
Is your child 3 to 5 years old?
Our program has been developed for 3 to 5 year olds. If your child is under 3 you’re still welcome to schedule a tour and reserve a space ahead of time, but we only have two spaces per class for toddler (30-36 months), so it’s likely your child will not be able to begin attending classes until they are 3 years old.
Does our daily class schedule work for you?
Please ensure you are able to pick up your child before class is over. We charge $1.00 per minute for late pick-ups, and $3.00 per minute if you’ve been late more than 3 times.
Any planned arrivals or pick-ups outside of the times listed above will need to be organized with the facility manager ahead of time.
When can you come by?
Scheduling a tour
We’re available for tours Monday – Friday from 5pm to 7pm, and on Saturdays from 11am – 1pm. To avoid disturbing our classroom routines, we do not schedule tours during class time and do not allow parents inside the classroom while it’s in session (with the exception of gradual entries for new students).
Tours generally take anywhere from 20 – 30 minutes and include a short tour and a sit-down presentation introducing ourselves, our program, and procedures. During our presentation, children are encouraged to explore our classroom and freely play with the activities we have available.
Every tour is followed by an email detailing the next steps in our enrollment process, including how to pay our $100 non-refundable registration fee (also used as a deposit to reserve the space) as well as our payment procedures for monthly tuition.
Spaces are first come, first serve, and whoever pays the registration fee first gets the space.
Please bring your child with you
Please ensure your child accompanies you on the tour, as it’s just as much an opportunity for us to meet your child as it is for you to meet us and view our facility. We will not reserve any space or proceed with enrollment until we’ve met your child.
Waiting List Procedures
Once the registration fee has been paid, we can add your child to our waiting list, and we’ll contact you once your desired space becomes available.
Each class and day has its own waiting list
We have a separate waiting list for each class and each weekday (ex. Monday afternoons) and will notify you of exactly how many people are ahead of you on each respective list. If you’re 3rd on Wednesday mornings, this means two other families are ahead of you and you will receive the 3rd available space on that class/day. We generally don’t add more than 5 people to any waiting list.
Normally, we have 2 or 3 spaces open up every month as children come and go, and so far nobody has had to wait longer than a month or two for an available space.
Adding days as they become available
Families who desire 5 days (Mondays to Fridays) will often choose to start with 2 days (Tues & Thurs) or 3 days (Mon, Wed, Fri) while adding their child to our waiting lists for the remaining days and taking them as they become available. There is no extra charge for this.
